05.06.08 Arrival
Arrival at Sofia Airport. You will be welcomed by a professional tour guide. Transfer to the hotel. Dinner and overnight in Sofia.

06.06.08 Sofia, Koprivshtitsa, Karlovo
Sightseeing tour of Sofia - see the St. Alexander Nevski Cathedral, the Church of St. Sofia, the Russian Church of St. Nicolas, the 4th century Rotunda of St. George and a part of the remainders of the old Roman settlement. Continue to the picturesque museum town of Koprivshtitsa and see the lovely old ethnographic houses. Lunch and continue to the Valley of Roses. Dinner and overnight in Karlovo or vicinity.

07.06.08 Rose Festival in Sopot
After breakfast departure to the town of Sopot. All the guests will be welcomed in the rose fields by the “rose queen” and the mayor of Sopot with rose blossoms, rose liqueur and rose jam. Participation in the rose-harvest - the guests will experience picking roses themselves. Thereafter a festive procession to the St. Spas Monastery in the area “Manastirska Polyana” will take place. Picknick with lunch followed by a tour on the Sky Lift up to 1500 m height displaying impressive views on the Balkan Range and the Rose Valley. Optional: flight with a paraglider (can be booked locally). Dinner and overnight in Karlovo or vicinity.

08.06.08 Rose Festival in Kazanluk
After breakfast departure to the town of Kazanluk - the major city in the Valley of the roses. A visit to the Thracian Tomb (4th century B.C., UNESCO World Cultural Heritage). Participation in the Rose Festival in Kazanluk - rose picking and rose-oil boiling demonstration. Lunch. Funny carnival parade and and election of “Miss Bulgarian Rose”. Dinner and overnight in Karlovo or vicinity.

09.06.08 Plovdiv-Bachkovo Monastery -Sofia
After breakfast departure to the second largest Bulgarian city Plovdiv. Sightseeing tour of romantic Old Plovidv including a visit to the Ethnographic museum, the Church of St. Konstantine and Helena and the Roman Theater (2nd century AC). Lunch and leave the city in the afternoon to visit the country’s second largest monastery - Batschkovo, see the monastery’s church and refectory, known for their splendid frscoes. Departure to Sofia. Dinner and overnight in Sofia.

10.06.08 Departure
Transfer to Sofia airport.
